I grew up in Berkeley, California and played as the only girl on a boy’s team for 4 years until I was 11 when the first all-girls team was formed. Besides the local club team I also played for the East Bay Premier team and the Northern California ODP State Team. I earned an athletic scholarship to the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. At UMass I was voted the Most Valuable Newcomer in 1992 and helped my team advance to the 1992 NCAA Division I Quarter-Finals and the 1993 NCAA Division I Semi-Finals. Despite loving the soccer program at UMass, I chose to transfer after my sophomore year in order to pursue a more academic path at the University of California, Berkeley. I competed one year for UC Berkeley after which I played two seasons for the Sacramento Storm, the 1994 champions of the U.S. Women’s semi-pro league.

Upon moving to Manhattan in 1999, I hung up my competitive soccer boots and began coaching. Over the last 11 years, I have held various positions in the Little Apple Soccer Club, including head coach, trainer and Director of Girls Programs. At the high school level, I coached both the Manhattan HS girls’ JV team (1999-2001) and Manhattan HS girls’ varsity team (2002-2009).
